After studying visual arts in Oslo, Elise explores theatre, including the renowned ‘Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq’ in Paris. Physical theatre, movement and experimentation become a main interest.
She is introduced to art performance and explores this especially in urban public spaces. Fascinated by society and public space, she does her Bachelors and Masters in architecture at the ‘Ecole Nationale d’Architecture Paris La Villette’ (ENSAPLV), her Master thesis implements performance art techniques to enlarge site specific approach, focusing on local culture, resources and human needs.
Both nature and urban living are of great inspiration. Her various life and cultural experiences, from a small Norwegian fishing village, many years in Paris, to the megalopolis of Mexico City and currently New Delhi, constitute valuable experiences to the understanding of human being and society and adding to her artistic and architectural journey.
Art is essence. Architecture is experienced as a global and complex part of human living society, that plays a significant role in the way that we behave and experience everyday life.
